Arriving of the Barrel
18 Year old barrel purchased from Tom griffin. Deliverd to Three floyds brewery Munster Indiana ((http://www.threefloyds.com/). Transported with commern carier to Mount Carmel PA. The barrel is from The Heaven Hill Distilleries, who claim to make the only 18 year old bourbon in the world (it\'s Elijah Craig).
brewfest 2007 Russian imperial stout barrel brew
Brewed with 15 Pa-alers members a russian imperial stout used 200 pounds of Maris Otter base malt, 120 pounds of specialty malt and 55 pounds of liquid malt. The fermentation was very vigorous. The conical fermentor reached 93 degrees and the gravity dropped from 1.090 to 1.056 in les then 12 hours. Cooled down the fermentor with running cold water on the outside of the fermentor.
